2026 Municipal Election - May 12 (OFFICIAL DATES)
- February 26: Candidate petition filing deadline (NJSA 40:45-8)
- April 13: 29-day pre-election campaign finance report filing (NJSA 19:44A)
- April 21: Last day to register to vote (NJSA 19:31-6)
- April 21: Last day to file appointment or application for challengers at the Board of Elections (NJSA 19:7-3)
- May 1: 11-day pre-election campaign finance report filing (NJSA 19:44A)
- May 5: Last day county clerk can receive applications by mail for mail-in ballots (NJSA 19:63-3B)
- May 6-11: Any voter who failed to apply by mail for a mail-in ballot may apply by 3 p.m. the day prior to the election at the County Clerk's Office. (NJSA 19:63-3D)
- May 8 by 4 p.m.: Last day to challenge mail-in voters at the Board of Elections.

Ocean City municipal elections are held on the second Tuesday in May in even years. Elections alternate between voting for mayor and three at-large City Council seats ... and the City Council seats representing Ocean City's four wards.
