There are several types of different Medicaid programs. Medicaid is attached to several different social income eligible programs such as Temporary Assistance For Needy Families, General Assistance and Social Security Income.  If you are one of the people that are not eligible for Medicaid there are several clinics in the Cape May/Atlantic County area that work on a sliding scale fee. In Cape May County there is also Volunteers In Medicine (VIM) that offers services for free if you qualify. Prescription help may also be available for free or reduced costs for medicines you must take on an ongoing basis. This is determined by your Doctor and the pharmaceutical company that manufactures your necessary medication.

For further information on how to reach any of these programs, please contact the Neighborhood and Social Services office at 609-525-9288. Should you get the voice mail, please leave a clear message with a number and someone in the office will call you back within 24 hours during the normal work week (Monday through Friday, 8:45am to 4:30pm).
