Mayor's Storm Update -- Jan. 25, 2026

January 25, 2026

Dear Friends,

This morning’s snow is now turning to sleet and rain, and temperatures overnight will dip below freezing. Streets and sidewalks will be icy in the morning.

To keep everyone safe and to allow our Public Works team to continue their cleanup, we are encouraging residents to limit travel and stay off the roads as much as possible. The following closings will be in effect for Monday:

  • Ocean City Community Center (Free Public Library, Aquatic & Fitness Center, Senior Center, Arts Center, Historical Museum)
  • Ocean City Civic Center
  • Ocean City School District
  • Trash and recycling pickup for Monday (all regularly scheduled pickup routes next week will be pushed back by one day).

After tonight, the temperature will not rise above freezing for another week. I want to continue to ask everyone to take precautions to avoid frozen pipes and to check on neighbors, who may not be in town.

Stay warm, and I hope you all have the opportunity to enjoy some down time with family and friends.

Warm regards,

Jay A. Gillian
Mayor
