CDBG Public Notice

Invitation to Participate in a Focus Group to Assess Community Needs

Dear Local Social Service Provider:

The City of Ocean City is in the process of preparing its Five-Year Consolidated Plan for submission to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).  The Consolidated Plan will serve as a blueprint for the expenditures of federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds in the City from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2028.

As part of this five-year planning process, the City is required to identify the affordable housing and community development needs for low-moderate income persons and households, as well as persons with special needs such as disabilities, substance abuse, mental illness, HIV/AIDS, the elderly, etc.  Simultaneously, the City is conducting an Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice to determine actions that may be taken to assure access to housing and opportunity for City residents regardless of race, income, disability, etc. As an agency or organization that serves the needs of Ocean City residents, your participation in this planning process will help the City develop an accurate strategy that addresses the priority needs of these groups and individuals.

This focus group will be held:

Thursday, April 11, 2024   10:00 AM to 11:30 AM

Location:    The Ocean City Free Public Library, Lecture Room *(entrance facing back parking lot)

1735 Simpson Ave., Ocean City, NJ 08226
