The Department of Public Works is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of public facilities, infrastructure and assets.  The Department performs and/or oversees the Divisions of Administration, Sanitation/Receiving Operations, Facilities Maintenance, Field Operations, Fleet Operations and City Wide Operations.
 
Mission statement:

The mission of the Ocean City Department of Public Works is to keep the City clean and well maintained, improve City facilities and infrastructure and provide quick and courteous services.  Our goal is the satisfaction of our residents and visitors and the maintenance and improvement of Ocean City’s public assets to the highest standards of quality.
