Public Works is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all public facilities, infrastructure and assets. Through strategic employment of team members and resources, we keep the city clean and well-maintained, manage city facilities and infrastructure and provide quick and courteous services. Our goal is the satisfaction of our residents and guests and the maintenance and improvement of Ocean City’s public assets to the highest standards of quality.
The department works closely with the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the Police and Fire Departments, and the Department of Community Services. Before, during and after storm events, Public Works coordinates with the OEM and public safety departments to protect the safety of residents and motorists, and to prevent property damage. We work with Community Services to provide support for a full calendar of special events throughout the year.
