Planning Office

The Planning Office works with the municipality to develop comprehensive plans, zoning ordinances, and other management tools to address local growth and development issues. Compliance by all can result in a high quality of life, stable property values and physical integrity of the environment.

The Planning Board is responsible for periodic master plan reviews, administer the development regulations of the City, review applications for approval of subdivision plots, site plans, and/or conditional uses and exercise such powers and duties with respect to the official map, adoption of amendments to the Zoning ordinance and any other duties as assigned by the governing body by ordinance/resolution and in accordance with Municipal Land Use Law.

The Zoning Board has the responsibility to hear and decide development applications requiring relief from local zoning ordinances, the appeal of decisions of the Zoning Officer, and interpretation of the zoning map or zoning regulations.
