City of Ocean City, NJ - Office of Emergency Management

Special Weather Statement:

12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025

The National Weather Service issued another Flood Watch in effect for Ocean City from 5 p.m. Wednesday (July 9) through 2 a.m. Thursday (July 10).

A widespread line of showers and thunderstorms could bring excessive rainfall to parts of New Jersey, including Ocean City. The rainfall may reach as much as 2 inches per hour and result in significant street flooding. Rain and thunderstorms remain in the forecast for Thursday and Friday.

Summer storms can be hit-or-miss. Residents are asked to closely monitor the forecast, radar and weather conditions. Please don’t be caught off-guard. Heavy rain flooding can impact parts of the island that don’t typically experience tidal flooding, and flooding conditions can develop quickly.

Be prepared to move vehicles. The roads closer to the beach are typically at higher elevation as are mid-block parking spots away from storm drains near intersections. Parking also will be available at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 20 North Shore Road in Marmora (please read letter from Trinity if you take advantage of this service).

For Police & Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-399-9111.
