Ocean City announced Tuesday that a June 20 tribute to the Beatles will be part of the 28th season of the 2022 Music Pier Summer Concert Series. Tickets go on sale Friday (April 8) with a special presale on Wednesday and Thursday (April 6-7).
“It Was 50 Years Ago Today: A Tribute to the Beatles” will feature Todd Rundgren, Christopher Cross, Jason Scheff (former bassist and vocalist with the band Chicago), Joey Molland (of Badfinger), and Denny Laine (who played with the Moody Blues and Wings). The artists will perform music from the Beatles albums “Rubber Soul” and “Revolver,” along with hits from their own careers.
A native of Philadelphia and Upper Darby, Rundgren is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with a long and diverse career. He is known for solo singles like “Hello, It’s Me,” “I Saw the Light” and “Bang the Drum All Day.” Cross hit it big in the 1970s and 1980s with songs like “Sailing,” “Ride Like the Wind” and “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do).”
The show is presented by the City of Ocean City and the series is co-produced by BRE Presents and Rose Productions. For tickets, visit ticketmaster.com starting at 10 a.m. April 8. A special presale (use code BRE) will be held 10 a.m. April 6 through 10 p.m. April 7. The show is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 20 at the Ocean City Music Pier.
