Special Weather Statement:
12:45 p.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2020

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch in effect for Ocean City from Christmas Eve (6 p.m. Dec. 24) through early Christmas morning (7 a.m. Dec. 25).

Forecasters predict sustained south winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts of 60 mph possible. Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches is also predicted.

Loose objects on your property should be brought inside or secured. All contractors are asked to secure job sites. Driving conditions could be hazardous, and power outages are possible.

The utility companies recommend you contact them directly as soon as you experience a problem so that they can properly track outages and repairs.

At this time, there are no coastal flooding warnings in effect for this storm system.
