Voting will close on Tuesday (Nov. 3, 2020) for the general election races for the U.S. Presidency, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Cape May County Sheriff, Cape May County Clerk, and Ocean City Board of Education. The ballot also includes three statewide public questions.

New Jersey has declared this election to be “primarily by mail,” therefore the County Clerk’s Office has mailed a Vote-by-Mail ballot to all active voters. Among the options for voters to return their ballots, one of those options is that a voter may return his/her voted ballot in person to the polling place. This is a new option for this election.

Poll workers will provide a provisional ballot to voters who show up at the polls without their Vote-by-Mail ballot. Two polling locations will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3 in Ocean City.

  • Ocean City Ward 1: St. Frances Cabrini (114 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City)
  • Ocean City Ward 2: St. Frances Cabrini (114 Atlantic Avenue, Ocean City)
  • Ocean City Ward 3: Our Lady of Good Counsel (40th Street and Central Avenue, Ocean City)
  • Ocean City Ward 4: Our Lady of Good Counsel (40th Street and Central Avenue, Ocean City)

If you have your Vote-by-Mail ballot and have not already returned it, you can submit it by one of the following options:

  • Via the United States Postal Service (must be postmarked on or before Nov. 3 and received by the county clerk by Nov. 10)

  • To one of the secure ballot drop boxes in locations throughout the county. The list can be viewed at https://www.capemaycountyvotes.com/voter-information/drop-box-locations/. Ocean City's drop box location is outside the Ninth Street side of City Hall at 861 Asbury Avenue. The drop box will be locked and no longer accept ballots after 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.

  • In person or by bearer (ID required) weekdays at the Cape May County Board of Elections
A bearer for another voter’s ballot must sign the outside of the voter’s ballot in the voter’s presence and return the voter’s ballot to the Board of Elections (and show ID).

  • At the polling locations above.
