Ocean City is experiencing substantial flooding on Saturday with many streets covered by water. I urge everybody to stay off the road.

For your safety, the protection of your vehicle and to keep neighboring properties from being swamped by wakes generated by passing cars and trucks, it's never a good idea to attempt to drive through flood waters. The tides are expected to recede later today. Please wait before driving anywhere.

Our police, fire and EMT crews are all equipped to be able to get anywhere on the island in these conditions. Call 9-1-1 for emergencies. For non-emergencies, call 609-399-9111.

The police chief has informed me that the Ocean City-Longport Bridge is closed due to flooding on opposite side of the bridge. I will provide further updates as they arise.
