August 13, 2026: Sand-pumping operations are paused while an underwater subline at the offshore borrow area is relocated. Work is expected to resume today. All beaches north of the Ocean City Music Pier (Moorlyn Terrace) and all beaches south of 10th Street are open with guarded swimming areas on Thursday. Beaches in the work area at Ninth Street and 10th Street are closed. The beach entrance at Moorlyn Terrace is open with access to an area of newly replenished beach in front of the Music Pier.

In the first stage of the project, work is proceeding southward toward 12th Street. When that is complete, work will move northward toward Great Egg Harbor Inlet. Approximately 1,000 feet of beach (two blocks) surrounding the immediate work area will be closed to public access at any time. Sand-pumping operations will continue 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. Sand ramps will be constructed over the pipeline at all beach entrances as work progresses down the beach.

All projected timelines are subject to weather delays, equipment and logistics issues, and multiple other factors. Please check back regularly for updates.
