August 4, 2026: The work area for sand-pumping is now between Sixth Street and Ninth Street. The beach entrance at Sixth Street is open with access to all newly rebuilt beaches to the north, including the guarded swimming areas at Fifth Street, Brighton Place and Park Place. The beach entrance at Ninth Street is open with access to all beaches to the south, including guarded swimming areas at 10th Street and 11th Street. Entrances at Seventh Street, Plymouth Place, Eighth Street and Moorlyn Terrace are closed.

In the first stage of the project, work is proceeding southward toward 12th Street. When that is complete, work will move northward toward Great Egg Harbor Inlet. Approximately 1,000 feet of beach (two blocks) surrounding the immediate work area will be closed to public access at any time. Sand-pumping operations will continue 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. Sand ramps will be constructed over the pipeline at all beach entrances as work progresses down the beach.

All projected timelines are subject to weather delays, equipment and logistics issues, and multiple other factors. Please check back regularly for updates.
