July 24, 2026: As of Friday morning, sand-pumping operations are continuing between the Third Street jetty and Fifth Street jetty. The beach entrances at Delancey Place, Third Street, Park Place, Fourth Street and Brighton Place are closed. The newly rebuilt beaches from First Street to Pennlyn Place are open with two lifeguarded areas open for swimming. The beach and a guarded swimming area are open south of the Fifth Street jetty. Work is expected to cross over the Fifth Street jetty and move toward Sixth Street at some point this weekend.

In the first stage of the project, work is proceeding southward toward 12th Street. When that is complete, work will move northward toward Great Egg Harbor Inlet. Approximately 1,000 feet of beach (two blocks) surrounding the immediate work area will be closed to public access at any time. Sand-pumping operations will continue 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. Sand ramps will be constructed over the pipeline at all beach entrances as work progresses down the beach.

All projected timelines are subject to weather delays, equipment and logistics issues, and multiple other factors. Please check back regularly for updates.
