July 21, 2026: As of early Tuesday morning, sand-pumping operations are at Park Place. The beach entrances at Pennlyn Place, Delancey Place, Third Street, Park Place and Fourth Street are closed. The newly rebuilt beaches from First Street to Second Street are open with two lifeguarded areas open for swimming. The beach at Brighton Place is open to beachgoers with a guarded swimming area.

In the first stage of the project, work is proceeding southward toward 12th Street. When that is complete, work will move northward toward Great Egg Harbor Inlet. Approximately 1,000 feet of beach (two blocks) surrounding the immediate work area will be closed to public access at any time. Sand-pumping operations will continue 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. Sand ramps will be constructed over the pipeline at all beach entrances as work progresses down the beach.
