EXERCISE CLASSES - CommunityPass REGISTRATION

We are excited to announce that registration for daily classes offered by Ocean City Recreation is available online via the CommunityPass registration system!

How to Create an Account / Family Account:

Go to: https://register.capturepoint.com/ocnj

From the CommunityPass login, homepage click on the “Create an Account” tab

On the next page complete the “Account Creation” fields and click on Create at the bottom of the page.

On the next page, you will see the CommunityPass Privacy Statement. After reading, click ‘Accept.’ Then click ‘Finish.’

 

If you already have an existing Community Pass account with another organization,

         Please follow these steps to register that account with Ocean City:

         Go to: https://register.capturepoint.com/ocnj

                Login to CommunityPass using the login and password for your existing Family account.

From the CommunityPass homepage click on the “My Account” tab, select “Update Account Information” and if required, update your profile. If no changes are required, continue to Step 3.

On the upper right-hand side of your CommunityPass account, click on the “Log Out” of Community Pass tab.      Your account is now active with the Ocean City Recreation department.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CommunityPass REGISTRATION - DETAILED CLASS REGISTRATION

To make a reservation and please follow the following steps:

Go to Community Pass 

Þ Login to your account or create an account 

Þ Select the gold register now button

Þ Select the "2020 Daily Class Sign-up"

Þ  Confirm account information

Þ  Select the participant's name that will be attending

Þ  Select which classes you like to attend.

Þ  If you are putting your children in childcare during class, please select that child at this time as well

Þ  Check the Waiver and Sign 

Þ  Complete the transaction. There will be no charge to your account 

Þ  Select finished and you are done

Þ  You are now all ready for your workout!

 

Reservations made be made any time after 9AM the Sunday before classes begin

Reservations may be made up to 1 hour before class.

If you do not make a reservation you may walk in if there is space available.

GYM & POOL Reservation System

Reservation System for Gym Time:

Monday – Friday:

      (5:30AM – 7:30PM) Call any time (the day before) or after, up through time of workout. You do not need a reservation. But may be turned away if there are no openings. 5:30AM - 12:30PM - 20 members every hour on the bottom of the hour. 45 min workout. NO 1:30PM workout slot - closed for a full cleaning of all 3 exercise areas. 2:30PM - 7:30PM - 20 members every hour on the bottom of the hour. 45 min workout.

What to Expect at the Gym

What to Expect when you return to the Aquatic & Fitness Center’s Gym  Reopening

Before you arrive at the Facility:

  • Make sure you are not running a fever at or above 100.4 and/or have any onset flu-like symptoms.
  • Everyone entering the facility must wear a mask. You must properly wear a mask during your workout. (nose & mouth covered)
  • Bring only essential items with you (keys, phone, water bottles, etc.)
  • We are promoting a “workout and leave” environment. Please keep your workout at or under 45 minutes.
  • 2nd Floor Restrooms for Gym patrons.
  • Locker rooms are closed.
  • No Child Care or Group Ex classes.
  • A call-in reservation system is in place. See below for details.

When you arrive at the Facility

  • Expect Delays! You must wait until your scheduled time slot.
  • Gym use will be on the half hour beginning at 5:30AM. For a maximum 45 minute time limit.
  • Your membership will reopen upon use.
  • A staff member will be at the Front Desk to greet you and ask Covid-19 screening questions, make sure you have a mask, and you are only bringing essential items.
  • You will be asked to sign a Covid waiver & Gym Participant Adherence Contract. You will only have to do so once.
  • You will swipe your membership key tag at check-in and have your temperature taken. Front desk staff will be behind the sneeze guards.
  • Please enter at the front desk. Enter 2nd floor by main stairwell by the R’ball court. You will exit the second floor by the Emergency exit door by the elevator (handicap members will use the elevator to enter and exit the second floor).

General Facility Restrictions and Changes:

  • Locker rooms will be closed for gym use. Locker use is suspended.
  • Child Care will be closed until further notice.
  • No cycle classes.
  • No Racquetball

General Facility Cleaning:

  • Bathrooms and high touch surfaces will be cleaned hourly.
  • Use hand sanitizer before and after use.
  • All equipment is required to be cleaned by members after each use. Expanded sanitizing stations are available.
  • 1:15 – 2:30PM will be closed for a full cleaning of all 3 exercise areas.

Gym:

  • 45 min workout time frame. The building will be cleared for cleaning and sanitizing high touch areas.
  • The 3 areas will have a maximum number of users. 20 users total for 2nd floor.
  • 2nd floor Restrooms are open.
  • Water bottle refill station is turned on.
  • Due to social distancing guidelines some pieces of equipment will be limited.
  • Please come ready to workout and leave directly after your workout.  Enter through the front desk, move to second floor by main stairwell. Exit through emergency exit by elevator/restrooms. Reminder must wear a mask at all times.

  • Must give at least 3 hrs. notice if you cannot make your time slot.
  • Only one gym & one pool time slot per day. Unless spaces are available. Phone reservations only.

Group Fitness Procedures Phase 2:

  • Virtual fitness classes will continue to be posted on the OCNJ Aquatic & Fitness Announcements page.
  • Nov-Dec. The winter schedules will host an 11 AM & 12-noon water exercise class & a variety of Indoor group fitness & cycle classes at the Music Pier.
  • You may participate in a class, gym, and pool in one day.

 

Current Members with Frozen Membership:

At this moment, current membership holders are all frozen. Memberships will unfreeze when choose to come back to use the pool, gym, and attend classes. We are renewing and accepting new members for our facility. You can choose from either a monthly, quarterly, and annual membership package. 

What to Expect at the Indoor Classes

What to Expect when you return to the Aquatic & Fitness Center’s Indoor Classes Reopening – Nov 2nd – Dec 19th

Before you arrive at the Facility: (Music Pier)

  • Make sure you are not running a fever at or above 100.4 and/or have any onset flu-like symptoms. Your temperature will be taken upon arrival.
  • Everyone entering the facility or coming to class must wear a mask. You must properly wear a mask. (nose & mouth covered). Must be worn during indoor Pier classes. Bring only essential items with you (keys, phone, water bottles, mat, etc.)
  • We are promoting a “workout and leave” environment.
  • Indoor Music Pier classes – restrooms – outside on the sides of the pier.
  • Child Care will be available at the Pier location. Ages 3yrs & up. Mon. – Fri. 9AM – 1PM - During morning classes only.
  • A reservation system is in place for indoor Pier classes. See below for details.

When you arrive at the Facility

  • Indoor group exercise & cycle classes will be held at the Ocean City Music Pier, 825 boardwalk
  • Parking in the Moorlyn Terrace parking lot or street parking.
  • A staff member will greet you, take your temperature, and ask Covid-19 screening questions, make sure you have your mask on, and you are only bringing essential items.
  • You will be asked to sign a COVID waiver & Gym Participant Adherence Contract. You will only have to do so once.
  • Your membership will reopen upon taking classes. Please bring your membership tag to every class, for check-in.
  • Inside classes – you will need to check-in inside the Pier. Please make your class reservation through Community Pass. Choose Register Now 2020 Daily Class Sign up. Prior to your indoor class. A reservation must be made for cycle classes. Bring your own mask, mat, towel, and water.

General Facility Restrictions and Changes:

  • Indoor group ex & cycle classes will be held at the Ocean City Music Pier, 825 boardwalk
  • No changing area at the Music Pier. Restrooms only. Come prepared to workout.
  • Front Locker rooms are available for pool classes only. No Locker use. Must put personal items on the 1st row of bleachers.
  • The Music Pier does not have locker rooms on the premises.
  • Child Care at the Aquatic & Fitness Center will be closed until further notice.
  • The Music Pier will have Morning Child Care available. 
  • No Racquetball

General Facility Cleaning:

  • Bathrooms and high touch surfaces will be cleaned often.
  • Sanitizer will be available and used on equipment after each use.
  • Expanded sanitizing stations are available.

Indoor Classes:

  • 45 min workout time frame.
  • Everyone must stay 6’ apart.
  • You must wear a mask while taking an indoor class.
  • Due to guidelines limited equipment will be used for classes. Bring your own mask, mat, towel and water.
  • Reservation System for Cycle Classes Sign-up on Community Pass Class size limit 12 (at this time).
  • Reservation System for Indoor Classes Sign-up on Community Pass size limit 30 (at this time).

Reservations for Classes – Community Pass. 2020 Daily Class Sign-up. You will need to create a community pass account. See the Aquatic & Fitness Center’s Announcement page for instructions.

Sign-up after 9 am Sunday to reserve any classes you will attend for the week ahead. Sign up closes one hour prior to class. If you do not make a reservation you may walk in if there is space available.

  • Virtual fitness classes will continue to be posted on the OCNJ Aquatic & Fitness Programs page.
  • Nov-Dec. The winter schedules will host an 11 AM & 12-noon water exercise class & a variety of Indoor group fitness & cycle classes.
  • You may participate in a class, gym, and pool in one day.

Before you arrive at the Facility:

  • Bring a mask. Everyone entering the facility must wear a mask.
  • Bring only essential items with you (keys, phone, water bottles, etc.)
  • We are promoting a “workout and leave” environment. Please keep your workout at or under 45 minutes.
  • Restrooms and showers will be open but individual lockers and saunas remain closed.

When you arrive at the Facility

  • Expect Delays! You must wait until your scheduled hour.
  • Please enter at the Main Simpson Ave entrance. You will exit through the back pool doors on Haven Ave. (handicap members will continue to exit through the lobby)
  • A Staff member will be at the Front Desk to greet you and ask Covid-19 screening questions, make sure you have a mask, and are only bringing essential items.
  • You will be asked to sign a Covid waiver. You will only have to do so once.
  • You will swipe your membership key tag at check-in. Front desk staff will be behind the sneeze guards.
  • There will be a maximum number of members allowed in the restrooms. Enter restrooms from pool deck.

General Facility Restrictions and Changes:

  • FRONT POOL Restrooms and showers are open. Back locker rooms are closed. Enter locker rooms on pool side.
  • Locker use is suspended.
  • Child Care will be closed until further notice.
  • No Gym, Group Exercise, or cycle classes

General Facility Cleaning:

  • Bathrooms and high touch surfaces will be cleaned hourly.
  • Deep Clean of the pool area will occur hourly.

Aquatics:

  • 45 min time frame. If showering after you must account for that in your 45 mins.
  • The pool will be open to lap/rec swimmers with 2 persons per lane and a maximum of 8 swimmers in the Rec section.
  • Restrooms and showers are open, but lockers remain closed. Capacity limits are in place.
  • Please come ready to swim and leave directly after your workout.  Enter through the lobby and exit through back pool doors.
  • Pool Doors will be left open at all times to increase air circulation.
  • If there is thunder and lightning the pool will close. If you are in the pool you will be told to exit the pool. You must social distance by your designated lane spot by the bleachers or exit the building.
  • No sharing of equipment. You must bring your own equipment.
  • NO Spectators permitted. Bleachers will be sectioned off with the front row available to put your towel and belongings on the bleachers if you choose.
  • Group, private swim lessons have been suspended. They will be reevaluated prior to phase 2 of the reopening.

Learn To Swim
The American Red Cross Learn to Swim program teaches youngsters to swim and be safe in, on, and around water. We teach 6 progressive levels. Starting with Level I where the most (elementary) beginning swimming skills are taught, through Level 6 refining the competitive strokes.

Parent and Tot
Parent participation is required. This class is designed to introduce and acclimate your young child to the water.

Adult Lessons
Instructors work with you at any level.

Private and Semi-private Lessons
Adult & child individualized private instruction; the lessons may be arranged at your convenience.

2 rental options:
Small scale – maximum of 12 kids, 1-hour rec swim, and room rental optional. During Center’s hours open. $7.00/swimmer $25.00 room rental
Large scale – over 12 kids, Room 4:30 pm – 5:30pmpool 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm (Sat. or Sun.). Exclusive use of the pool. $210.00 up to 20 children  $7.00/swimmer over the amount of 20
Customer in charge of the table set up. Aquatic and FitnessCentermaintenance staff will break down tables and chairs.

American Red Cross Courses - Lifeguarding & CPR

American Red Cross Courses

Now offered at the Aquatic & Fitness Center:

Lifeguard class includes: CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and First Aid for Lay Responder (Valid for 2 years)
All participants must be proficient in Front Crawl & Breaststroke. Pre-cert swim is required. This will be given at the beginning of the 1st class.

LIFEGUARD CLASS: Sundays, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Session #1 February 9, 2019 through March 22, 2019
Mandatory Pre-requisite Swim: Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1:30PM.

ONLY 1 session for Winter 2020

East Coast C-Cerpants Swim Team

East Coast C-Cerpants Swim Team

The East Coast C-Cerpants Swim team is a year long competitive age group swim team that is sanctioned by USA Swimming. This program includes swimmers from age 5 who have completed swim lessons to college age swimmers. The C-Cerpants compete in a variety of local and regional swim meets that include swimmers of all ability levels. Please see the team's website for more information.

Explore the world of SCUBA diving. Learn the physics and physiology of man underwater, combined with developing water skills to become a competent SCUBA diver.  SCUBA diving opens the door to the exciting world beneath the sea.  For more information, call EAST COAST DIVING 646-5090.

Location:  8th Street Recreation Center
Ages:  3 - 5 (must be potty trained).
Please bring a drink and a peanut-free snack.  Mask will be required to be worn except during snack time.
