Veterans Day Ceremony to Move to the Ocean City Tabernacle

Date: November 9, 2017

Ocean City’s annual Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 will be held at the Ocean City Tabernacle (550 Wesley Avenue). It had originally been planned to be held outdoors across the street at Veterans Memorial Park.
The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month marked the end of the “Great War” (World War I), and now is the time when citizens honor all the men and women who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Ocean City’s ceremony is always well-attended – a strong show of support in recognition of all veterans.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Charles Strange, president of the Michael Strange Foundation, named for his son, a decorated Navy cryptologist who was killed in action in Afghanistan. The foundation supports the families of recently fallen service members.
The ceremony also will include music, remarks, prayer and the placing of a memorial wreath. Ocean City’s Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and American Legion posts sponsor and participate in the event.
