Ocean City prides itself on having something to enhance everyone’s recreation and leisure time. Throughout the island there are well equipped parks and playgrounds, maintained for safety and fun on a year round basis. There are baseball, softball, football, soccer, field hockey and multi-purpose fields. Numerous basketball, tennis, street hockey, shuffleboard and volleyball courts complete the array of active recreation sites, many of them lighted for added hours of enjoyment. The City’s twelve hole par three golf course provides hours of enjoyment in a scenic meadow setting. Children can choose from a variety of fun and educational programs throughout the year. Adults can take part in the full array of programs at the Aquatic and Fitness Center, as well compete in such activities as softball and volleyball. Winter Programs

OC Rec Basketball

Hey kids! Get lots of playing time, develop skills, challenging competition and fun for all skill levels. Leagues feature competition to challenge every child’s ability in a supportive, family-oriented atmosphere. All games played at the 6^th St. Sports and Civic Center.

2 Basketball Clinics are offered for grades 1-4 prior to the season beginning.

Ocean City Travel basketball teams play in the Southshore basketball league.

Street Hockey

The street hockey program is run by the Ocean City Recreation Dept., and is open to both boys and girls ages 3^rd grade to 12^th grade. There are two separate leagues, 3^rd – 8^th grade & 9^th – 12^th grade.

Registration begins Oct 1^st – Nov 1st. One clinic is offered in November prior to December league play. OC Rec Team Hockey Shirts are provided.
Required Equipment: Helmet with cage, shin pads that cover the knees, Hockey Gloves and Hockey Stick with butt at the end.

The OC Rec program has been a great success since it's inception in 1997. Well attended and acknowledged to be a great activity for our children. We welcome your involvement. You can contact the recreation office at 609.525.9304
