Community Services
The Department of Community Services provides services, programs and activities for the residents, visitors and businesses in the City of Ocean City that benefit the Community at large.
The Department of Community Services, under the direction of Jim Mallon, organizes over 200 events each year for the City including concerts, festivals, theatre productions, parades, charitable walks and runs and many other year-round family friendly activities.
The Community Services Department also maintains the Recreation and Leisure programs and facilities located throughout the City.
In addition, The Community Service Department is responsible for developing, maintaining and enforcing the City’s Codes and Standards for Planning, Zoning, Construction Code, Municipal Code and Licensing.
The Department of Community Services is comprised of the following Divisions:
Planning & Zoning (Planning Board, Zoning Board & Historic Preservation)
Municipal Code (Smoke Detector Program & Property Maintenance)
